This week’s submission is from MuggleNet fan Olivea and is titled ‘Chamber of Secrets.’ From the artist, “I am a huge Bellatrix fan. However, I drew this picture of the ‘Chamber of Secrets’ book cover on a quiet day during a recent weekend at home in Northern Wisconsin. I am 13 years old (as of last week).”
Earlier this evening, we got our first real sneak peek at Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 as part of ABC Family’s Harry Potter Weekend.
As promised, one essay submission would be highlighted every month on the MuggleNet homepage. This month’s selection is entitled The ‘Adventurous Song’: Why Harry Potter is Epic Literature”, and it was written by Helena, exploring the degree to which J.K. Rowling follows in the footsteps of Homer, Milton, and even J.R.R. Tolkien.
Around the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, the United Kingdom’s ITV premiered a special called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1: Behind the Magic.
According to the press release, it featured “an exclusive look behind the scenes on the set of the film to reveal secrets and insider gossip from the set.”
Now it looks like it may be making its way onto DVD. A new filing on the British Board of Film Classification’s website reveals this special has been given a rating and will be distributed by Warner Home Video.
According to Home Media Magazine, the Ultimate Editions of Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince are set to be released June 14.
The two-disc Blu-ray is listed at $49.99 and the three-DVD is set at $39.92. Pre-order is slated for May 10.
Our newest Fan of the Week is Aryna from Singapore! Read her thoughts on the most relatable “Potter” characters and the theme of remembrance throughout the books.
You may remember last year we heard from London Mayor Boris Johnson, who couldn’t understand why they put a Harry Potter theme park in Orlando, Florida before his home country.
While J.K. Rowling does not have as strong an opinion as the Mayor, last night she briefly told Digital Spy she’d love to see one in the United Kingdom.
In celebration of the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and as announced on Episode 220, MuggleCast will be attending LeakyCon 2011 from July 13-17 in Orlando, Florida.
